IDDA Vino Rosso Sicilia DOP 2021 Gaja
Idda or "she", as the Sicilians call the Etna volcano in the local dialect, is the new Sicilian adventure of the famous Piedmontese winemaking family Gaja. After vineyards in Piedmont and Tuscany, the family decided to restore the glory of the southwestern slope of Etna and the local varieties Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio. They grow them at an altitude of about 600 m above sea level and produce this young red wine with tones of black cherries, medium-full flavor, lively acidity, and a mineral finish.
