Idda, or "she" as the Sicilians call the volcano Etna in the local dialect, is the new Sicilian adventure of the famous Piedmont wine family Gaja. After vineyards in Piedmont and Tuscany, the family decided to restore the glory of the Sicilian variety Carricante and the neglected southwestern slope of Etna. And it is here, at an altitude of 600 - 800 m above sea level, that the vineyards are located, from which this sparkling white wine with pronounced minerality is born.
