Trebbiano d'Abruzzo DOC Bianchi Grilli 2022 Torre Dei Beati
Trebbiano is an ancient grape variety known to the ancient Romans. In Italy, there are 7 different DOC appellations, and one of the most famous is Trebbiano d'Abruzzo. Fausto Albanesi from the Torre dei Beati winery planted Trebbiano in his vineyards spread on the hills between the coast and the Gran Sasso massif in Abruzzo in 2008. The vineyards with a unique microclimate are completely organic, and no chemicals are needed. Fausto labels his limited productions of white wines from native varieties with Bianchi Grilli. His Trebbiano has a beautiful pronounced aroma reminiscent of white flowers, yellow fruit, and chamomile. Its harmonious taste with well-balanced acidity pairs perfectly with light dishes such as pasta filled with ricotta, stewed fish, or fresh cheeses.

Torre dei Beati
The Torre dei Beati winery was founded in 1999 when Fausto Albanesi took over the vineyards from his father. From the very beginning, he knew he wanted to produce quality, honest wines that express the best of local varieties, so he immediately started farming organically, and in 2000 the first bottle of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo saw the light of day. He initially produced wine only on the ground floor of an old country house in the middle of the vineyard, later expanding the space to include a cellar and new production facilities. Fausto and his family take care of 21 hectares of vineyards in the renowned Loreto Aprutino wine area. The vineyards are located on hills at an altitude of 300 m above sea level between the Gran Sasso massif and the coast. During the day, pleasant temperatures prevail, influenced by the gentle breeze from the sea, and at night the temperature drops significantly due to the cool air from the mountains. Well-ventilated vineyards are less prone to mold and other diseases, so it is possible to grow vines entirely without chemicals. The oldest vineyards were planted in the 1970s with the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo variety, later supplemented by two other native white varieties: Pecorino and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo. The driving force of the entire winery is Fausto's unrelenting curiosity, which drives him to constantly experiment, observe the characteristics of individual varieties, and strive to ensure that his wines best express the terroir and unique characteristics of local varieties.
